All Red Palm Oil is Not the Same
About the Palm Oil that is used in Sunshine Factor
Fruit Oil vs Kernel Oil
Sunshine Factor is red palm oil made from the palm fruit, not the kernel. Many other palm oil products are diluted with the more abundant (and thus cheaper) kernel oil. Palm oil kernels do not have the same health benefits for pets as the palm fruit oil used in Sunshine Factor.
Certified Organic
The red palm oil is certified organic by QAI, which means no pesticides, preservatives or other contaminants were used in its growth or processing. It is of human-quality consumption standards and is naturally derived using steam and mechanical processes - no chemical solvents are used.
Sustainable Agriculture
The palm oil used is grown on long established farms in Brazil (in accordance with USDA Certified Organic Standards), and is not harvested in tropical forests in Malaysia, Indonesia or Africa (where the process of palm oil collection is causing environmental damage). The farms used are members of Northern Plains Sustainable Agricultural Society and the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). They are also certified by TransFair as a Fair Trade program, where workers are paid a fair wage.
Plastic vs. Glass
Sunshine Factor is thoroughly tested for freshness and purity and is then bottled in glass containers in accordance with USDA organic bottling standards. Bottling in glass helps avoid contamination issues and preserves freshness. As the oil only becomes liquid when warmed, it is potentially dangerous to heat the oil in a plastic container as toxins may be leached into the oil during heating. Sunshine Factor is therefore bottled in glass to avoid this risk.
Tocopherols and Tocotrienols
Vitamin E is best thought of as a vitamin complex consisting of two therapeutic groups of compounds with vitamin E activity: tocopherols and tocotrienols.
Each group comprises four different isomers - alpha, beta, gamma and delta - which all have different biological activities and potential therapeutic benefits.
Tocopherols are present in most vegetable oils and are more common in the diet then tocotrienols, which are found at relatively high concentrations in oil extracted from the fruit of the palm tree.
Tocotrienols are shown to be more potent, therapeutically, than tocopherols. For example, the antioxidant capabilities of tocotrienols are 40-50 times that of tocopherols. In addition, other isomers are more potent than alpha tocopherol. Both gamma tocopherol and alpha tocotrienol may be more potent antioxidants than alpha tocopherols.

Uses and testimonials
General - "Sunshine Factor is the only oil we use in practice that contains alpha-carotene and abundant tocotrienols. These unique properties provide superior antioxidant effects and we have had great success with integrating Sunshine Factor into our practice. We have used it in over 900 clinical cases. It is an integral part of our treatment protocols for cardiac and renal disease, neoplasia, skin conditions, arthritis, senior care and immune issues. It has also been a great benefit in stimulating appetite in many of our sick or aged felines." Thomas Bankstahl, DVM, Director of Medical and Surgical Services, Parkway Small Animal & Exotic Hospital, Michigan.
Birds - "We added the Sunshine Factor to our parrots' diet. In less than a month we noted their feathers were fluffy and healthier. Using (this) product has seriously improved our birds' well-being and appearance." Ronda and David, Arkansas
"I prescribe Sunshine Factor for birds that need to be switched to pellets buut are still stuck on seeds. Sunshine Factor provides a natural source of vitamin A, vitamin E and essential fatty acids that are missing from an all-seed diet. Improvement in dry skin can be seen in days to weeks." Dan Johnson, DVM, Raleigh
"We had a bumper crop of egg-laying from our permanent resident birds last spring about 4-6 weeks after starting Sunshine Factor, including an egg from our turkey vulture pair that's been with us for 20 years and never laid one!" Jen Nevis, DVM, Willowbrook Wildlife Centre, Indiana
"We have been using Sunshine Factor for about 8 months , and the change in the flock has been dramatic - not only in feather quality but in disposition as well." Mike and Barbara, Michigan
Ingredients
Monoglyceride of an edible fatty acid suspended in certified organic Brazilian dende (red palm fruit) oil.
Directions
Sunshine Factor is semi-solid at room temperature. To liquefy, float botle in hot (not boiling) water for a few minutes
Mix 1tsp (5ml) liquefied Sunshine Factor with 453g (1lb) of the pet's food. This need not coat all of the food, just sufficient to be sure that when their regular amount of food is served each day that some of the Sunshine Factor is being ingested. When necessary the mixed food and Sunshine Factor can be stored until needed/fully consumed.
Alternatively administer orally, giving 0.02-0.06ml per 100 gram of the pet's body weight daily.
Rabbits - start on a lower dose (not to exceed a total of 0.1ml) and increase as tolerated.
Guinea Pigs - Guinea pigs may benefit from starting at a lower dose (0.02ml/100g).
Birds - Take care not to add the Sunshine Factor directly to shells or rind that may be discarded.
